About Us

We are located in Cherry Hill NJ and our chartering sponsor is St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church of Cherry Hill. Recently celebrating our 40th year the troop was founded in 1968 and has been a real success due to our fine leadership and parental involvement. Troop 170 seeks to train our Scouts in responsible citizenship, character development, and self-reliance through participation in a wide range of outdoor activities, educational programs, and, at older age levels, career-oriented programs in partnership with community organizations. Over the past 40 years we have graduated over 60 Eagle Scouts with many more to soon achieve this prestigious honor.

We meet on a weekly basis with the exception of holidays. Here at these meetings we run a Boy led program of learning, team building and fun. Class "A" uniforms are mandatory at all Troop meetings and class "B" for most other remaining meetings. With outdoor activities planned monthly, we achieve the needs of the camping and backpacking enthusiasts...and we have fun too! Annually we attend Summer Camp at various BSA approved reservations.
